Plan your Vineyard Tour in France
How much does wine tasting cost?
Moët & Chandon experiences range from 75€ for seated tastings to 235€ per person for private vineyard tours with Grand Vintage pairings.
What is a vineyard tour?
A vineyard tour combines walking through Champagne's terroirs and historic chalk cellars with a guided tasting of the House's exceptional cuvées.
What should you wear on a vineyard tour?
Smart-casual layers and comfortable walking shoes are ideal for exploring both outdoor vineyards and cool underground cellars.
What makes the best wine tasting experiences?
The best wine tasting experiences combine education with sensory discovery. At Moët & Chandon, our guided tastings feature expert commentary on terroir, winemaking techniques, and the unique characteristics of each vintage, all while enjoying exceptional Grand Vintage wines in our historic chalk cellars for an unforgettable sensory journey.
How far in advance should I book?
We strongly advise booking several months ahead, particularly during peak summer months and weekends when tours fill up quickly. Our cellar experiences have limited capacity with professional guides, so advance reservations through our online system guarantee your preferred date and time for the ultimate Moët & Chandon visit.
Is the vineyard tour wheelchair accessible?
Yes, our cellar tours are fully wheelchair accessible with dedicated lifts and special entrances designed for guests with mobility needs. All tour routes through our historic cellars accommodate wheelchairs, ensuring everyone can experience our champagne heritage comfortably.
What happens if weather conditions are poor?
Our cellar tours continue year-round regardless of weather conditions since they take place underground in our historic caves. Rain, snow, or wind will not affect your champagne tasting experience, allowing you to enjoy our Cabernet Sauvignon cuvées and other premium selections in the perfect climate-controlled environment of our cellars.
Can I purchase wines during the visit?
Absolutely, you can buy champagne bottles directly from our boutique located within the cellar complex. Our selection includes exclusive Moët & Chandon cuvées available only at the estate, alongside our classic range and limited editions. The boutique opens during all tour times, allowing you to take home your favorite bottles discovered during the tasting experience.
What makes Fort Chabrol access so exclusive?
Fort Chabrol remains a place reserved for staff only, making visits exceptionally rare and special. This private vineyard estate normally serves as Moët & Chandon's working research facility, where only employees typically enter the gates. Access is granted exclusively for select experiences, allowing guests to explore areas usually forbidden to the public and discover the biodiversity work conducted at this historic UNESCO World Heritage site.
Are there seasonal differences in the experience?
Tours operate year-round with consistent cellar experiences, though vineyard visits vary by season. Spring and summer months offer lush green vineyard walks, while autumn provides harvest excitement with grape picking activities. Winter tours focus primarily on underground cellar exploration and indoor tastings, maintaining the same high-quality champagne education and premium bottle selections regardless of the time of year.
What's the difference between our winery and vineyard facilities?
Our winery and vineyard encompass two distinct but interconnected experiences at Moët & Chandon. The vineyard represents our 1,190 hectares of premium Champagne terroirs where Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier grapes grow in carefully tended plots across the region. The winery facilities include our production areas, blending rooms, and the world's largest network of underground chalk cellars spanning 28 kilometers beneath Épernay. During your visit, you'll explore both environments - walking through our sustainable vineyards at Fort Chabrol to understand terroir and biodiversity, then descending into our historic winery cellars where champagne ages in perfect conditions for years before reaching your glass.
